DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

This is a 100% on-site role located at the Rocky Mount Engine Plant (RMEP). The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Maintenance teams within the machining organization at RMEP. This position involves significant team leadership responsibilities, overseeing approximately 10 exempt direct reports, and playing a crucial role in driving improvements to the machining business. Prior experience in machining and/or maintenance is highly desirable. The successful candidate will manage a team that operates across all three shifts, ensuring optimal equipment availability and capability. Additionally, this role is pivotal in RMEP's transformation, spearheading the launch of new CNC lines while enhancing the performance of existing transfer lines and CNC lines.

In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage personnel in the Manufacturing Engineering function, ensuring departmental activities and performance standards are met.

  • Lead the development of departmental plans and deliverables.

  • Provide technical consultation, leadership, and advice to managers, manufacturing personnel, and other functions.

  • Coach and motivate direct and indirect team members, delegate work assignments, and lead change initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives, including capital, daily operations, and organizational structure.

  • Provide technical inputs and direction for manufacturing processes.

  • Lead communications with all stakeholders.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Significant level of relevant work experience, including supervisory and leadership experience, required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This is a 100% on-site role, located at the Rocky Mount Engine Plant (RMEP).

  • Lead the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Maintenance teams in the machining organization at RMEP.
