Cummins Inc. Logistics Manager in South Africa

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Africa Logistic Manager to join our team specializing in Logistics for our EMEA ROT Transportation Department situated in Johannesburg, South Africa

Please be advised that this is a hybrid position, and there will be expectations for you to work on-site for a few days each week.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Lead logistics functions: Drive efforts within various logistics areas to ensure both internal and external customer expectations are met, optimizing the supply chain.

  • Manage daily operations: Oversee daily logistics operations to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.

  • Continuous improvement: Lead projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence, utilizing common processes, tools, and information systems.

  • Support corporate initiatives: Champion Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead cross Business Unit planning processes for intra-company alignment.

  • Mitigate supplier constraints: Collaborate with functional stakeholders to address long-term supplier constraints.

  • Develop supply chain processes: Establish collaborative relationships with business partners to create standardized supply chain processes and procedures.

  • Strategic problem-solving: Approach daily problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities both strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.

  • Staff development: Manage, coach, and develop staff, setting goals for training, development, performance, and career planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strategic thinking and planning: Proven ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and overall business strategy.

  • Supply chain expertise: Deep understanding of supply chain management, including the integration of information, products, and services to achieve desired results while balancing inventory, cost, and delivery tensions.

  • Project management skills: Ability to establish and maintain the balance of scope, schedule, and resources for projects, ensuring that results and impacts are fully realized.

  • Relationship building: Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience

  • B.S in applicable field, MBA preferred.

  • Significant level of relevant work experience required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
