DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Site Quality Engineer to join our team specializing in Quality in Seymour, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Resolving Customer Issues : By managing systems related to plant customer issues and corrective requests, you ensure timely and effective resolution, enhancing customer satisfaction.

  • Leading Containment Activities : Taking charge of containment activities helps prevent the spread of quality issues, maintaining product integrity and customer trust.

  • Ensuring Quality Standards : Ensuring products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality standards (e.g., IATF, APQP, PPAP) guarantees consistent high-quality output.

  • Supporting Change Management : By verifying products and processes during change management activities, you ensure key measures are met, facilitating smooth transitions and continuous improvement.

  • Conducting Quality Audits : Leading and supporting less complex quality audits helps identify areas for improvement and ensures compliance with quality standards.

  • Providing Technical Expertise : Serving as a quality technical resource to other functional areas enhances collaboration and drives quality improvements across the organization.

  • Driving Continuous Improvement : Utilizing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and 7-step problem solving to prioritize continuous improvement initiatives ensures ongoing enhancement of processes and products.

  • Supporting Safe Launch Initiatives : Leading or supporting Safe Launch initiatives through VPI ensures new products are introduced successfully, minimizing risks and maximizing quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the unique needs of different audiences, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and engaged.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications to implement changes that drive continuous improvement and meet functional needs.

  • Quality Influence : Recognize and engage stakeholders, facilitate constructive conflict, and influence decisions to ensure quality priorities are balanced and integrated into business outcomes.

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning : Lead technical quality planning using structured and measurable processes to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with industry standards.

  • Measurement Science : Analyze measurement processes to identify and quantify sources of uncertainty, applying metrology principles across various domains (e.g., chemical, dimensional, electrical).

  • Problem Solving : Use systematic analysis and industry-standard methodologies to solve problems, mentor others, and implement robust, data-driven solutions that prevent recurrence and protect customers.

  • Production Part Approval Process : Coordinate APQP activities and ensure readiness for production by adhering to PPAP and AIAG standards, meeting supplier and customer requirements.

  • Project Management : Balance scope, schedule, and resources to ensure project goals are met and impacts are fully realized, driving successful project outcomes.

  • Quality Process Management : Apply quality tools and methods (e.g., APQP, FMEA, SPC) to ensure the quality of products, processes, and services, maintaining high standards.

  • Quality Systems Management : Utilize quality tools and processes to maintain and demonstrate the effectiveness of the quality management system, ensuring consistent product/service quality.

  • Statistical Foundations : Apply statistical tools and techniques to influence decision-making, leveraging data collection methods and analytical insights to drive improvements.

  • Valuing Differences : Recognize and appreciate the value that diverse perspectives and cultures bring to the organization, fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.

  • Quality 4.0 : Leverage cloud-based systems and digitization (e.g., digital twin, adaptive intelligence) to drive improved quality outcomes and apply modern quality management practices.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is preferred.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimal to intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • This role requires 100% on-site work.(5 days a week)

  • Required to cover weekend production as needed.

  • Experience reading GD&T prints preferred.

  • No licensing required for this position
