Cummins Inc. Procurement and Supply Continuity Analyst in Pune, India

DESCRIPTION

Executes buying strategies in accordance with agreed-upon material buying plans, specifically focused on improving supplier overall performance and capacity ahead of demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Collaboration : Collaborates with the sourcing team for supplier process improvement while maintaining high-quality product and/or service delivery.

  • Procurement Analysis : Analyzes procurement initiatives and processes to deliver cost-effective and high-quality goods and services.

  • Recommendations : Prepares and presents recommendations for improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior procurement leaders.

  • Policy Application : Consistently applies sourcing policies, procedures, and processes.

  • Communication Linkage : Supports linkage between procurement and manufacturing facilities, serving as a communication conduit between manufacturing and suppliers.

  • Supplier Interaction : Interacts with suppliers regarding payment issues and order fulfillment.

  • Data Collection : Collects and validates relevant supplier scorecard data.

  • Expediting Support : Provides delivery/expediting support to the plant/site during supplier issues.

  • Engineering Releases : Supports management and execution of engineering releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

  • Education : College, university, or equivalent degree in a related business field such as supply chain management.

  • Licenses/Certifications : This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Supplier Contract Management : Assesses and enforces contractual terms and conditions, monitors key performance indicators, and manages supplier delivery.

  • Supplier Performance Management : Manages supplier performance through defined metrics and processes, ensuring continuous improvement.

  • Supply Base Risk Management : Minimizes supplier risk by proactively mitigating risks through risk analysis tools and dual sourcing opportunities.

  • Problem Solving : Solves problems using systematic analysis processes and implements robust, data-based solutions.

  • Values Differences : Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Minimal prior experience is required.

Skills:

  • Excel and BI Knowledge : Must have excellent Excel and BI working-level knowledge.

  • Techno-Commercial Soundness : Expected to be techno-commercially sound in categories related to mechanical systems (precision machining/hardware/assemblies).

  • Engine and Cooling Systems Knowledge : Knowledge of engines and cooling systems is an advantage.

  • Project Management : Must have good project management skills.

  • Presentation and Communication : Should be proficient in presentation and communication skills.

  • Stakeholder Management : Must have strong stakeholder management skills, especially for managing critical suppliers.

  • Purchasing/SCM/SQI Background : Background in purchasing, supply chain management, or supplier quality improvement is helpful.
