Cummins Inc. Warehouse Coordinator - Level II in Phaltan, India

DESCRIPTION

Under some supervision, coordinates operations through interaction with operations management. Coordinates activities for different areas like Inbound, Outbound, Kitting, etc., based on direction from Operations management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):

  • Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.

  • Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard.

  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment.

  • Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.

  • Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.

  • Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.

  • Lead HSE Training and actively engage the workforce.

  • Quality:

  • Follow all applicable standard work, work instruction/process documentation, and established quality procedures.

  • Raise issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.

  • Perform quality checks for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.

  • Identify and control non-conforming material.

  • Delivery:

  • Receive incoming goods, accurately sort, label/package, store goods, and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.

  • Operate manual and automated equipment to pick, pack, and ship products per customer expectations.

  • Demonstrate a high level of competency in core work skills.

  • Work at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard.

  • Teamwork:

  • Communicate effectively with the assigned team and all support teams.

  • Ensure training completion in line with business requirements.

  • Seek ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

  • Ensure a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks.

  • Support planned operator care and maintenance tasks.

  • Remain flexible and perform other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.

  • Work with peers, skilled trades, and support staff to maintain and identify equipment in need of repair.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience.

  • College, University, or equivalent degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Diploma in Mechanical or related field.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations or related roles.

  • Warehousing experience preferred.

  • Logistics and Warehousing experience preferred, including 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) provider management.

  • Mode Selection: Evaluating and selecting appropriate transportation mode and equipment type by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of Oracle and warehouse operations.

  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Ability to operate manual and automated warehouse equipment.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Familiarity with inventory control methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports, and advanced-level computer skills.
