DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Site Quality Engineer – Senior join our team specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins’ business in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Resolving Customer Issues: By managing systems related to plant customer issues and corrective requests, you'll ensure customer satisfaction and maintain strong relationships.

Leading Containment Activities: You'll swiftly address and contain quality issues, preventing them from escalating and affecting production.

Ensuring Quality Standards: By adhering to standards like IATF, APQP, and PPAP, you'll guarantee that products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality requirements.

Supporting Change Management: You'll verify products and processes during change management activities, ensuring that key measures are met and data is analyzed for informed decision-making.

Conducting Quality Audits: Leading and supporting quality audits will help maintain high standards and continuous improvement within the organization.

Providing Technical Expertise: As a Quality technical resource, you'll offer valuable insights and support to other functional areas, enhancing overall quality practices.

Mentoring Team Members: By coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, you'll foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Driving Continuous Improvement: Utilizing methodologies like lean manufacturing and 7-step problem solving, you'll lead cross-functional teams in prioritizing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Customer Focus: Build strong relationships with customers and deliver solutions that meet their needs, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

Effective Communication: Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the unique needs of different audiences, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Manufacturing Knowledge: Apply your understanding of manufacturing processes to implement changes that drive continuous improvement and meet functional needs.

Quality Influence: Recognize and engage stakeholders, facilitate constructive discussions, and influence decisions to balance quality priorities with overall business goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Demonstrated role competence is required. College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Intermediate level of experience required.

Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry. Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required.

Translates PFMEA to Control Plans

Validates processes through capabilities and MSA studies 

Leads cross functional meeting to address issues and drive to conclusion 

Communicates at all levels of the business for data sharing and ensuring alignment to plant’s objectives 

Work experiences in quality engineering and/or manufacturing engineering.  

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
